Join the studio to jump-start your journey back to the flute. Over a 12-week period you’ll get 6 virtual 1-on-1 lessons with Chelsea Tanner.

Weekly Q&A | Community
Each week there will be a Zoom call answering quesions from students in the studio. This is an opportunity to play in front of others, ask questions and connect with other futists also returning to the instrument. Join the Discord to offer encouragement, post progress, and ask questions!

Returning to your instrument later in your life isn’t going to feel the same. Handing the frustration of learning and making time for yourself is difficult. You’ll get tools to get the most out of the program and your lessons!

The program is 12 weeks. Learning the flute takes time. The program is designed to fit into your life, no matter how much you can commit to at the moment. Within these six weeks, you’ll get six 1-on-1 lessons to be used at any time within the 12 weeks.

Perhaps you don’t have a working instrument or an instrument at all. I recommend when starting back that you rent a flute from a local instrument shop. If you keep going with it, then I can gladly help you through the process of finding an instrument that’s right for you!

Traditional flute lessons really push practicing for about an hour every day. However, I know not everyone has that kind of time. I recommend about 15 minutes per day at a minimum, on top of showing up to the weekly Q&As. It may not seem like enough, but it will do more than practicing 2 hours one day per week.

Yes! I teach many of my students online, and we get a lot done! There are physical and fundamental principles that I guide students through so they are able to hear deficiencies and troubleshoot on their own during their practice time.

The next cohort starts on November 10, 2025! The enrollment period is Oct. 20-Nov. 3, and the next opportunity to sign up won’t happen until 2026.

My foundation as a teacher and performer is classical. However, the fundamental principles of flute playing are what we’ll focus on and we can apply that to any style of music! Just let me know what kind of music you’d prefer to learn in your first lesson and we’ll design your lessons around that!
